Dobro M-35 Resophonic Walnut Sunburst 1938
1938 Dobro Brown Sunburst Resophonic. Beautiful Pearloid peg head overlay and pick guard. This beautiful guitar has a violin rolled body edge, also know as 'fiddle-edge'
These instruments are very difficult to find and this condition is practically unheard of. Original tuners with some missing parts that are in the case. The Brownburst finish is in excellent condition with only minor nicks on an undented body. See photos for details.
The original hard case is included. It sounds as great as it looks. This guitar was recently voted (by probably the World's biggest guitar magazine) as one of the "50 most collectable guitars".
"Sheet metal steel body, walnut sunburst (yellow or orange fades to brown) painted finish, usually segmented "f" holes (but sometimes round window soundholes), dot fingerboard inlays, bound rosewood fingerboard (sometimes unbound), 14 frets clear of the body, painted resonator plate, gold sparkle peghead overlay with "Dobro" peghead decal. Retail price of $35, a slightly fancier and expensive version of the M-32. The second most common model, appeared in catalogs in 1938 (but may have been available a year earlier), and hence should always have a pickguard (or at least two holes in the body where a pickguard was mounted). Discontinued in 1940" ~ guitarhq.com
