Gibson ES-175 1955
The Gibson ES-175D guitar made its debut in 1949. This laminated guitar featured a cutaway, which was a feature not found on pre-war Gibsons. The '175' referred to the model's price of $175.00. This work-horse of a guitar has been described as "one of Gibson's ultimate bread-and-butter instruments," as it has been in continuous production since 1949. The finish on this example is extremely bright and clean. It should be considered to be a high quality factory refinish. The tailpiece has been replaced. Everything else (pickups, bridge, and electronics etc.) appear to be all original. The original frets have practically no wear and the neck is as straight as an arrow. Original case included.
